Mao Sugiyama, a 22-year-old Japanese chef, describes himself as asexual.  In April he underwent genital removal surgery, and then tweeted that he would be preparing his own penis, testes, and scrotum as a 100,000 yen (about 1255.65 USD) meal.

Of the six people who showed interest, only five actually showed up.  They split the meal, garnished with button mushrooms and Italian parsley, for $250 each.

The event sparked some controversy in Japan, with photos from the event being taken down from an organizer's blog and multiple complaints being lodged.  However, Sugiyama has broken no laws by serving up his own flesh, as there is no anti-cannibalism legislation in Japan.

I like reading the news, but I dislike reading terribly written stories full of bad puns.
