According to new analysis of 36 worldwide studies, parental rejection and acceptance has a major influence in shaping people's personalities.  

Researchers found that when children experience parental rejection, they are more likely to feel anxiety and insecurity, as well as hostility and aggression toward others.

Additionally, parental rejection that occurs consistently during childhood can carry over into adulthood, making it more difficult to form secure and trusting relationships as adults.

Another finding was that fatherly love has just as much if not more influence on a person's personality development compared to motherly love.

Studies suggest that fatherly love often has greater influence because children and young adults are likely to pay more attention to the parent they perceive as having higher prestige or power in the household.

Researchers say the findings show that fatherly love is important in child development and men should be more involved in nurturing their children. Additionally, the findings should help reduce the common practice of solely blaming the mother for a child's behavioral problems and put more emphasis on the father.
