Angry demonstrations sparked by a US-produced film mocking the Prophet Mohammad have continued to spread throughout the Middle East.

The protests began on Tuesday at the US Embassy in Egypt and was followed by a deadly attack on the US Embassy in Libya, which killed 4 American diplomats.

Protests then spread to the US embassies in Yemen and Tunis, as well as the German and British embassies in Sudan.

Other demonstrations have occurred in Lebanon, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, the Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem.

One protester was killed in clashes with security forces in Lebanon after protesters set fire to a KFC restaurant.

The Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt called for peaceful mass demonstrations on Friday and said that none would be organized outside the US Embassy.

The US has increased security at its embassies worldwide and a team of 50 Marines have been sent to Yemen for additional security.

Details are still being sought regarding the film that has sparked the outrage.
