Jacintha Saldanha, a 46-year-old nurse who had taken a hoax call from 2 Australian DJs seeking information about the Duchess of Cambridge's pregnancy, was found dead on Friday.

The DJs, Mel Greig and Michael Christian, made the prank call early Tuesday, impersonating Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles to elicit information on the duchess. Saldanha took the call and then transferred it to the nurse caring for the duchess, who had been admitted for acute morning sickness.

The other nurse shared information about the duchess believing the DJs were the queen and prince. The Australian DJs said they were surprised the nurses believed their "terrible" British accents.

In the aftermath of the call, there was no complaint from the palace nor any disciplinary action taken against Saldanha from the hospital, but she reportedly felt "very lonely and confused" by what happened.

Greig and Christian have apologized for the prank and have deleted their Twitter accounts due to public backlash. The DJs said they would not return to their radio show until further notice out of respect for Saldanha.

Hospital officials were advised that Greig and Christian may have broken the law but they haven't decided if further action will be taken against them.

Saldanha's death is not being handled as suspicious but the exact cause of death remains unclear.
